This week Robert and Jazmin preview the general election now that we know who all the candidates will be. Then, Robert talks through a few transparency reforms announced by Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg.
Thank you for your patience as we deal with Robert moving -- we will be back to our normal cadence and time soon -- and more guests!

Tuesday May 16, 2023

This week Jazmin and Robert talked about the end of the primary campaign, and predicted what would happen when results started coming in -- then later, once the results were clear, they recorded their reaction to the results. Also in this episode are reactions to the news that Kentucky Commissioner of Education Jason Glass was looking to leave Kentucky, and a remembrance of Lamin Swann.

Tuesday May 09, 2023

This week Jazmin looked into the ACLU's lawsuit taking on this year's SB 150, which is a law that prevents trans kids from receiving gender affirming care.

Tuesday May 02, 2023

This week Robert invited Olivia Krauth of the Courier-Journal to the show to talk about the GOP Gubernatorial debate that happened on May 1. Robert and Olivia talked about winners and losers, as well as why we hold debates like these in the first place. It was a good discussion!
Before Olivia joined, Robert talked about Mayor Craig Greenberg's first budget proposal and what Louisville's priorities will be in the next year.

Tuesday Apr 25, 2023

This week Robert and Jazmin talked about the Kentucky Sports Radio debate from last week and Robert did an analysis of all the fundraising data for 2023 candidates for Q1 2023.

Interview with Robert Sainte

Tuesday Apr 18, 2023

Tuesday Apr 18, 2023

This week, Robert interviewed Robert Sainte, the Democratic candidate in the 28th Senate District special election. They spoke about how he found himself running for this seat, what he's been hearing from voters, and how he's campaigned so far.
Jazmin is out this week, so Robert did the show by himself -- he talked about the GOP Gubernatorial primary, as both a poll and the Southern Kentucky Lincoln Day Dinner occurred last week, as well as another mass shooting event in Louisville and the city's reaction.

A Mass Shooting in Louisville

Tuesday Apr 11, 2023

Tuesday Apr 11, 2023

Most of the show this week is an update about the mass shooting in Louisville, where five people were killed and eight more were wounded. Government leaders were in Louisville on Tuesday and Wednesday and we talked about what they said and any potential response to the tragedy.
We also gave an update about the past few weeks for the Republican gubernatorial candidates, and where we see the race heading in the final weeks.

Tuesday Apr 04, 2023

This week we welcomed Republican candidate for Governor Alan Keck to the show! We asked him a lot of tough questions and didn't pull our punches regarding what we thought about the Republican agenda, and he was willing to answer -- the conversation was very cordial and definitely provided a different perspective than you will normally hear on our show. We were impressed with Mayor Keck's willingness to take all of our questions, even if we didn't agree on much.
The legislative session is over, and Jazmin and Robert talked about the post-veto period happenings -- including final passage of both medical marijuana and sports gambling, two major Democratic priorities for years. We talked about how much credit was due to the Governor, and how each program will be set up in the coming years.

Tuesday Mar 28, 2023

This week Jazmin took us through all the legislation Andy Beshear vetoed, what he signed into law, and what became law without his signature. Then, Robert talked us through a feature of James Comer in the New York Times and the fallout that has ensued here in Kentucky, as well as a few other missteps by the 1st District Congressman.

Tuesday Mar 21, 2023

Allison Wiseman, the President of the Kentucky Young Democrats, joined us this week to talk about KYD -- what it does, what role it plays in the Kentucky political ecosystem, and how to create and join chapters. She was great!
Before speaking with her, Jazmin and Robert talked about all the legislation that passed in the lead up to the veto period. Most of it was really bad, including potentially the most anti-trans legislation passed anywhere in the country. While most of it was bad news, there were at least a few good parts, such as medical marijuana (and maybe eve sports betting) potentially becoming legal in Kentucky.
