With the session coming quickly, this week we bring you a short episode about how the Budget Process works in Kentucky!  We originally recorded a longer episode with a section about Rep. Dan Johnson, but in light of his apparent suicide, we cut that section.

This week, Robert brings us an update on the developments in the story about the sexual harassment scandal engulfing the Kentucky legislature.  Then, Jazmin tells us about the capture of Eric C. Conn in Honduras.  Lastly, Robert gives us an update about the Democratic primary for the 6th US Congressional District, which has a new challenger in Lexington Mayor Jim Gray.  And, as always, QUICK HITS.

This week, Jazmin talks about Kentucky's film incentive, which has been in the news several times recently due to an investigation by the Kentucky Center for Investigative Reporting.  Robert talks about the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet -- how it's funded and how decisions are made there, plus how policies have changed over the past few years.  Then, as always, QUICK HITS.

This week, Chris Hughes fills in for Jazmin (get well soon!).  Robert and he talk about Matt Bevin's partial victory over education boards in Franklin Circuit Court, the removal of Dan Johnson from Louisville Metro Council, and Louisville running afoul of Trump's Department of Justice over sanctuary city status.

A lot has happened in Kentucky politics over the past few weeks!  We spend this week's episode catching everyone up on major issues that we've talked about in previous shows: the pension bill, Rand Paul's assault, Dan Johnson's trial, and Jeff Hoover's situation.

It's been quite a week for Kentucky politics!  We have four stories this week, each of which could have been it's own show.
 
First, the fall of Jeff Hoover, the (now) former Speaker of the House, who has been embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal.  Then, we talk about Louisville Councilman Dan Johnson, who faced his own sexual harassment trial this week.  Then, we discuss the assault of Rand Paul over the weekend, and finally, we talk about firings which occured at the State Board of Elections, which have led to some allegations about Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes.  What a week!

This week's podcast features State Senator Morgan McGarvey talking with Robert and Jazmin about pension reform: what parts of the GOP bill that the Senator actually likes, which parts are troubling, what could have been done to make the process of pension reform work better, and what the Democratic response to the GOP plan looks like.

Jazmin tells us all about when, why, and how the confederate statues in Lexington came down, and Robert tells us all about the pension plan released last week by Governor Bevin, Speaker Hoover, and Senate President Stivers.

This week, Jazmin and Robert had a conversation over Skype with Rep. Kelly Flood, who represents the 75th district, which is in Lexington.  We talked about why she decided to run for office, and what she's done while she's been in the legislature.  Our conversation was very enlightening and revealing!  Rep. Flood is a wonderful woman and we loved hearing her perspective.

Jazmin is back this week!  She talks to us about an Attorney General's decision regarding the investors at Braidy Industries, plus some controversial statements by the company's CEO.  Then, Robert tells us about new developments in the Louisville Mayoral race.  Plus, QUICK HITS!
