This week, we welcomed Dr. Paul Walker, candidate for the 1st US Congressional District in Kentucky. He's making a bid to unseat Rep. Jamie Comer. He told us why he's running in a District that seems so staunchly Republican, and which issues he sees as most key to Western Kentucky.
Before that, Jazmin told us about the 21st Metro Council Seat in Louisville, which is again undergoing scandal which has reached the level of state government. Then, Robert tells us the full story of the pension saga over the past two years. While we've addressed all the individual pieces over time, sometimes it's good to take a look at the big picture. This week, we welcomed Terri Branham Clark, Democratic candidate for the 100th House district, to the podcast. We talked about why she's running, the importance of teachers to Ashland, how she thinks about Braidy Industries while she runs for office in Boyd County, and plenty more!
Before the interview, we spoke about a victory for Criminal Defense Lawyers on Marsy's Law, two of Gov. Bevin's tweets which could appear before the ethics commission, Josie's Raymond's request for guidance to KREF, Christian Motley's appeal, and the dueling rallies of VP Joe Biden and President Donald Trump.

This week, Jazmin and Robert called Charlotte Goddard, who is running in the second district in the Jackson Purchase, in far Western Kentucky. They talked through her decision to run for office, how to win in Western Kentucky, and how important education is to Democrats this year.
Before that, Jazmin told us about West Virginia Governor Jim Justice's Kentucky tax bill -- it's substantial and will be hard to collect. Robert went through Andy Beshear and Jacqueline Coleman's quarter 2 financial report, and talked about other potential gubernatorial candidate's reaction.

This week, Jazmin and Robert speak with Dr. Lisa Willner, the Democratic candidate in District 35 in Louisville. She told us about why she's running and what she hopes to accomplish in Frankfort. She's a great person and it was a great conversation!
Before that, Jazmin and Robert discussed the Kentucky Wired audit which revealed some significant problems with the public-private partnership. Jazmin tells us about the US District Court's ruling on Kentucky's law regarding transfer agreements for abortion clinics, and then some smaller topics are discussed, including a massive haul for Amy McGrath and a denstist who is suing the Bevin administration and the UK College of Dentistry. This week, Jazmin talks to us about Attorney General Andy Beshear and Governor Bevin's general counsel Steve Pitt's arguments before the Supreme Court of Kentucky. Robert also updates us about Braidy Industries, who is attempting to build an aluminum plant in Ashland with $15 million of Kentucky taxpayer dollars. And, there are Quick Hits!

This week, Jazmin and Robert sit down with David Suetholz, Democratic candidate for th 20th Senate district. Mr. Suetholz is known for his strong support of the labor movement, and we spoke to him about that as well as agricultural issues in his district and other major issues like the state budget.
Before that, Jazmin updates us about Lexington's city hall, a challenge to the candidacy of Christian Motley, who is running for Lexington-Fayette Urban County Council, and Robert updates several stories we've introduced in the past few months.

On this week's show, we welcomed Sen. Morgan McGarvey and Rep. Jason Nemes, both of Louisville, for a bi-partisan chat about sports betting. Both legislators are leading the charge attempting to legalize those kinds of wages in Kentucky. We talked through their coalition, why they think the bill will pass this year, and some details about the future bill. It was a great chat!
Before that, Jazmin and Robert talked through the state's overcrowded jails, and the strike at Four Roses. Additionally, Robert explained why some recent stories about voter registration numbers might be overhyped. Thanks for listening!

This week, Rae Hodge sits in for Jazmin and she and Robert speak with Sarah Zeller of the Kentucky Center for Economic Policy about their new economic agenda. They speak about it's purpose and contents, what KCEP hopes to accomplish with it, and how they expect to use it. They also discuss ways the economic agenda is already being used on the campaign trail.
